About This Website

We have created this resource to educate Tauranga residents about what different works entail: where, and when, and why we’ll be doing them. It’s part of the Tauranga City Council and Fulton Hogan’s continuous drive to innovate in the ways in which we engage with the public and communicate what we are doing with our roads.

Our Work In Tauranga

The Tauranga City Council (TCC) is responsible for approximately 530 km of roads, 700 km of footpaths, cycleways, accessways, and more than a million square meters of berms around the city.

On top of that, the TCC also manages 11,500 street lights, 13,000 road signs, and 17 bridges. This is across 3 districts within the greater Tauranga area – Tauranga City, Mount Maunganui, and Papamoa.

In December 2021 TCC selected Fulton Hogan as the contractor to maintain these roading assets. Fulton Hogan was formed in 1933 in Dunedin by Jules Fulton and Bob Hogan. Since then Fulton Hogan has grown to employ almost 10,000 staff throughout the wider Pacific region and is pleased to be able to bring its decades of expertise to the residents of the Tauranga region
